This is a vintage Fleischmann HO scale Orient Express Sleeping Car (No. 1611), made in the U.S. Zone of Germany and originally purchased by our family in Hamburg, Germany in the early 1950s. It has remained in our family ever since and is now being sold in completely original condition.

Fleischmann pieces from the “U.S. Zone Germany” era (1945–1955) are highly collectible due to their early postwar production,and historical significance. This particular car is part of the classic Orient Express / Grands Express Européens line, featuring detailed lettering and a classic deep-blue body.

Family History Included

We are including an original vintage family photograph of our old train layout from many years ago. The car being sold appears in that layout and is marked with an arrow in the photo.

We are also including the original handwritten family note describing its history and origin.

Condition (Sold AS IS)

We are selling this car exactly as found, completely untouched:

• We did NOT clean, polish, restore, refurbish, repaint.

• Dust, wear, patina, and aging are all left in original vintage condition.

• Roof shows significant paint wear and discoloration from age.

• Body shows scrapes, dings, and general wear consistent with being over 70 years old.

• Windows show age-related clouding.

• Couplers and wheels show aging and oxidation.

Collectors often prefer receiving vintage items in original condition, so we intentionally did not attempt any cosmetic cleaning.
