The iconic Tom Dixon Melt Pendant's polycarbonate shade is injection blow moulded. The unique optical display of the gold, copper, smoke, and chrome finishes is created via a vacuum metallisation process, which makes the pendant mirrored when switched off. When switched on, the pendant transforms to take on the mesmerising appearance of molten glass. In Spring 2024, Tom Dixon released a new Opal finish, designed for those who love the Melt collection but require an enhanced luminosity. Opal Melt is available with either a gold suspension kit and ceiling canopy. The Opal finish is reminiscent of natural pearls when switched off and provides an ethereal, opalescent glow when switched on.
