SUPERB Early 1940s "Benham Original New York" Deep Cerulean Blue Crepe Cocktail Dress & Matching Slip. This Dress is just one of the Finest I've ever seen as to Style and Fit, The Front Bodice and the Hipline are Studded with Prong-Set Rhinestones, the Video does NOT capture the brilliance of these high quality stones, I tried over and over, you'll be so pleased when you see it in person, they sparkle just like diamonds. At the hipline there are Peaked "Points" Overstitched which cascade softly into a Very Full Flapper-Style Handkerchief Hem, it is gored and Very Very Full for Dancing (Think Ginger Rogers). Side Metal Zipper, the Slip also has a matching side metal zipper, Only the slip bears the tag. Dress Measures Chest 32", Waist 24", Hip 36", Waist to hem 30 1/2", Shoulder to hem 47". Slip measures chest 34", Waist 26", Hip 34". The straps on the slip may have been replaced. The Dress is in Outstanding condition, No missing or darkened rhinestones, NO rips/holes/tears. There's a very faint spattering of spots at the front center bodice (pic-I didn't dry-clean, estate-direct) & a tiny speck (pic). Do NOT spot clean this as you'll water spot it, just FYI. The dress feels like a Floaty Silk Chiffon, but it may also be Rayon. The slip is Rayon. NO Fade or underarm stains to the dress. The slip has some intermittent fade, at the underside hem of the slip, there's lightish spots (see last pic). Rarest of Rare to find this Label and Style, completely wearable for the lucky girl (with a very small, thin frame)...BUY-IT-NOW!
