A stunning and expensive luxurious tool from a gentleman hunter traveler. exquisite silver mounted long handled roasting fork, dating to
around the 1870's. This rare and unusual piece is a fine quality item made for a
19th-century gentleman. The horn is likely a gift or souvenir from a hunting in Africa, the handle is made from a long Antelope horn, silver mounted pommel cap (unmarked) with a decorative silver plated three pronged fork, each point of the fork is slender and very
sharp. This implement is intended for hand roasting of small items of food by the open fire (or campfire), bread, buns small meat cuts . The length of the horn provides depth from the fire the horn is also non-conductive so can easily be held in the hand for a long period of time. The perfect gift for the man that has everything and a big open fire.
