This chainmail standard is simple, yet effective; a band of chainmail and leather that protects the neck, particularly from cutting or slashing strikes. Much of the chainmail has been stitched in place to the leather and the chainmail links are dome-riveted mild steel flat ring links that alternate with solid flat rings. The mail has been oiled (natural) for a finish.

The combination of chainmail with a leather edges and soft padding inside the neck collar gives good protection for the neck – a standard is an easy add-on to gain a fuller degree of protection from chainmail armor.
