Released in July 1981, 4 is the fourth studio album by British‑American rock giants Foreigner, produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange. It marked a shift toward a more polished, radio‑friendly rock sound and became the band’s most successful record, holding the No. 1 spot on the US Billboard 200 for 10 weeks and selling over six million copies in the US alone.
The album spawned a string of hit singles, including the anthemic Juke Box Hero, the sax‑driven Urgent (featuring Junior Walker), and the power ballad Waiting for a Girl Like You, which spent a remarkable 10 weeks at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other highlights include Night Life, Break It Up, and Luanne.
