This Bassman came to me in late 1981 and has been used extensively by me , for guitar, until I bought some Marshall’s in the mid 1990’s. I had it gone over this year by a great amplifier man, and great friend, with caps being changed as well as replacing the pilot light. Prior to my coming upon it, the on/off toggle was changed at some point and (1) chassis screw and (1) back panel screw were also replaced. I do believe that everything else is original. This is a very hot amplifier for guitar and quite powerful, at that. The amp can be heard if you go to YouTube and look up Noel Redding’s Secret Freaks at the Rongovian Embassy , Ithaca N.Y. I was the guitar player with Noel, and there are four or five songs. (There is a Marshall under the Bassman, which blew out after Purple Haze that night). The Bassman was played full up, treble on 10 and bass on three, with a Vox Wah Wah and a Boss Chorus- no overdrive or fuzz. You can hear it also if you look for Chubby Checker-“ Friday’s Live”- Feb 19, 1982 - “Harder than Diamond” or “ Burn up the Night” The amp settings were the same , but my 1960 Les Paul Junior was straight in. The same 1969 4x12 was used. This is some amplifier! Feel free to ask any questions!! Robbie Walsh.
