Germany Poland region Solid Silver Gilt Interior Kiddush Cup Tumbler cup, hand beaker Hebrew Dedication Circa 1740

Presented is a great solid silver Kiddush Cup with a gilt interior and Gilt rim with a Hebrew or prayer engraved dedication made circa 1740. European silver of this period is usually assayed for 800 or 830 fine silver; while American standard sterling silver is .925 fine so there is less silver in this alloy. This petit antique cup has a great hammered scrolling leaf motif and is in beautiful condition with only some dents and dings, a scratched or engraved writing on the rim, some slight loss of gilt detailing, a test or scratch on the bottom possibly from a silver content test and some fine scratches from gentle use and care. This is an elegant cup perfect for the collector of antique silver.
