Tani Arashiyama (real name: Hiroyuki Tani, born in 1940) is known for his exquisite relief carvings. In 1979, he and five other individuals established a shared kiln, naming it "Muraku Kiln" (Murakugama). The kiln's name "Murakugama" might be more widely recognized.
He has received numerous accolades, including the Special Encouragement Award at the Bonsai Pot Exhibition, the Encouragement Award at the Contemporary Small Bowl Artists Exhibition, as well as the Chairman's Award at other exhibitions. He continues to actively create ceramics today.
