This auction is for an Asian yellow Floral Decorative Ginger Jar with a colorful pattern possibly in a Chinoiserie style.
It would be great for storing teas, herbs or spices as well as a decorative purpose.

This ginger jar measures approx. 7" h" on the rosewood base with a 5" diameter. The jar is 6" h.
This ginger jar features a colorful design of lilies and other flowers on a yellow background.
The bottom is marked Hand Painted in Hong Kong especially for Jordan Marsh and is for Decorative use only - not for food use.
It has a matt yellow maze finish with glossy flowers.
In the past years I have had a Ginger Jar collection that sat on my fireplace mantle. Some I purchased in stores, others perhaps from an estate sale. I have had many of them since the late 80's. I have decided to downsize some of my collections. I have several favorites, but it is time to let go.
