About This Items
KATO brings to life the iconic Union Pacific FEF-3 steam locomotive #844, the last steam engine built for UP and still running today in preservation. Based in Cheyenne, Wyoming, this engine leads special excursion trains across the U.S. during events.
The matching Excursion Train set includes 7 beautifully preserved passenger cars, converted from classic 1950s-era coaches. These include a power car, museum cars, crew support cars, and a business car with an observation deck at the rear.
Also included in the product line are Water Tenders, essential for long-distance steam operations. These cars carry extra water for the locomotive and are painted in Union Pacific’s iconic yellow livery, with versions featuring a large American flag or standard lettering.
