Not run or displayed out of original box. Stored in a climate controlled, smoke-free location.
Box has some shelf wear. Original foam packaging in excellent condition but subject to future deterioration. Model is in mint condition. Only blemishes noted are very small, distributed spots of tarnish. Unsurpassed detailing with lost-wax castings, long sold out. Will display very well unpainted.
This is a rare model, one we could not find listed in The Coach Yard's master list. The prototype cars, named "New Yama", etc., were regularly assigned to the North Coast Limited until 1947, when they were either given "streamlined" skirting and reequipped for tourist service and painted into the "pine tree" scheme or rebuilt into coaches without skirting or alteration to window arrangement.
The window arrangement is clearly different from the 14 section sleepers done by Walthers, Branchline, and others in brass.
