Weeping Yoshino Cherry Tree – Live Plant in 2.5” Pot – Prunus × yedoensis
Introduction:
The Weeping Yoshino Cherry Tree features fragrant, white flowers with an oriental branching pattern and glossy bark with dark-green leaves. This variety offers the same blossom and bark characteristics as the Yoshino Cherry but is distinguished by its graceful “weeping” branch structure. Yoshino Cherry is a hybrid between Prunus speciosa (Oshima zakura) as the father plant and Prunus pendula f. ascendens (Edo higan) as the mother. Originating as a natural or artificial hybrid in Japan, it is now one of the most popular and widely planted flowering cherries (sakura) in temperate climates worldwide. All plants are clones propagated by grafting from a single original tree.
