It is a hybrid bait that can be used to break the guard of big bass with its raw, baitfish-like action, sometimes with a wobbling lure-like action, and sometimes with a drifting, natural action.
Its ability to get big bass to bite is so great that even during test fishing in the harsh winter months, the lure often got two or three bites in a single cast and finally hooked the fish.
