Karate Kenkyu-sha  Karate Research was published in 1934 by Genkazu Nakasone, and most of the key figures in karate in Japan at the time were involved in its publication. For some reason, however, it ended after the first issue was published. However, even though it was only one issue, its content was dense. The authors included most of the pioneers active in Japan, such as Gichin Funakoshi, Kenwa Mabuni, Choki Motobu, and Kanken Toyama, as well as many prominent Okinawans living in Tokyo. The book also includes information on the karate clubs of Keio University and other universities of the time, and is full of valuable information that is not available anywhere else today. At the time of publication of "Karate Kenkyu", karate schools were still incomplete, and this continued until "Karatedo Taikan" was published in 1938, also by Nakasone Genkazu. Therefore, this book reflects the chaos that existed in the early days of karate as it was.
