Description

The Jordan 5 Retro Black Metallic (2016) (GS) is a classic colorway of the Jordan 5 that was first released in 1990 and then made a comeback in 2016.

The shoe features a black nubuck upper with Metallic Silver accents on the tongue, midsole, and Jumpman logo on the heel. The silver accents also appear with a speckled pattern on the shark teeth detailing in the midsole while the outsole is in a translucent Icy Blue hue. The shoe showcases all of the signature Jordan 5 design elements such as the visible air unit in the heel, the mesh netting on the sides and plastic lace lock.

What we love about the Jordan 5 Retro Black Metallic (2016) (GS) is the way the black nubuck upper is well complemented by the Metallic Silver accents, which add a touch of contrast and shine, elevating the overall design. The grade school sized shoe was initially released at the price of $180 on July 23rd, 2016.

Released in July 2016, the Air Jordan 5 OG BG 'Metallic' 2016 offers a remastered version of the OG colorway released in 1990 in Boys Grade School sizes. A faithful reproduction of the original design, the sneaker features a black nubuck upper, reflective 3M tongue, and a 'Nike Air' logo on the heel. The Air Jordan 5 OG 'Metallic' 2016 joins previous retros released in 2000, 2007, and 2011.

Designer Tinker Hatfield drew inspiration from the 1940s Mustang fighter plane when designing the Air Jordan V. Released in 1990, Jordan's fifth signature sneaker was originally constructed with a leather or nubuck upper, reflective tongue, lace locks, "Nike AIR" on the heel, "shark teeth" design on the midsole, and a translucent outsole. Over the years, the Air Jordan V has been released in many new colorways.

Inspired by Michael Jordan's continued flight status and a WWII fighter plane the Air Jordan 5 was another custom Tinker Hatfield tinkered to perfection. With another scoring title under his belt and a 69 point outbreak against the Cavaliers, Jordan needed a shoe that would live up to his elevated game.

1990 proved to be a good year, Michael's aerial attack inspired the WWII Spitfire flames on the 5s. This shoe introduced a padded tongue displaying a continuance of the iconic jumpman logo, and a first for clear rubber outsoles. Additionally, a plastic lace-lock, full-grain leather and Durabuk and side vents converge to form a fighter like shoe ready for takeoff.
