Made by legendary FX artist Don Pennington and was obtained directly from his estate. Made of brass, this chip served as the working model for what you see on screen. Ultimately the design was changed to be what we know now, a bit more three dimensional. This is a true piece of film history.

 

 If you'r familiar with this piece you'll know that the ones that have surfaced in the past show their age. The brass tarnished and the red paint in the inlay of it chipped away. It's the same condition I originally purchased mine in. I took great care restoring the chips, matching them to what they first looked like 31 years ago. The brass was cleaned to a bright shine and I painstakingly painted the red back in the inlay of the chip using an enamel paint. The last two photos show the chip before and after my restoration. To my knowledge, no one has offered these restored and ready to display. 

 

 This is a chance to the actual prototype of a prop that has been replicated by countless companies. These are extremely rare and are difficult to come by. This production made prototype CPU chip will come accompanied by three documents. A "Reel Props Shop" COA, a copy of the original COA that I received for the chips, and a document that goes over the chips background info and its later restoration.  I truly love each movie and television show that I sell displays of, and I hope it shows. I choose to spend extra time and money to make each display I sell unique, and I create them from only the highest quality parts. The acrylic displays I use are not photo frames, they're made for store/shop signage. They're USA made, high gloss, thick acrylic that will hide imperfections such as minor scuffs or scratches in case of it being dropped or falling over. Hence, being made for store owners. The front and back images are high quality prints on high quality photo paper. Every display comes with a "Reel Props Shop" COA. The COA's are printed on 4"x6" card stock, comes with a protective top loader, and has been hand signed and embossed.  

Are the items really from the production stated on the display?

 I'm a collector with over two decades of experience. I take great care and I'm extremely cautious when choosing who I do business with when obtaining memorabilia. I only obtain my items from high profile prop companies, dealers, people who have worked in the industry, or people who can absolutely prove an item's providence. I do this not only for my customers safety, but my own. Many of the items that are displayed are also within my own collection.
