This is an extremely rare WW1-era Imperial Japanese Army Manchuria Garrison Commemorative Photo Album, dated 1912 (1st year of Taisho era).

The album was produced for soldiers stationed in Manchuria, showcasing rare photographs of garrison life, military parades, local landscapes, and interactions with local culture.

It represents a crucial time when Japan was establishing its influence over Manchuria after the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905), a key prelude to Japan’s later expansion in Asia.
