Description

This is a Showa-era retro audio timer made by Pioneer, the PP-215A.
The time is displayed by flipping over the panel.
I was checking the clock function and only just noticed that when compared to the clock on my smartphone, it is off by a few seconds every minute.
However, even when compared after four or five hours, the time is only off by a few seconds.
I think the flap rotates slowly and flips down when it comes off the claw, so the slight deviation is due to how well the panel catches on the claw.
However, the motor that rotates the flap rotates accurately, so there probably isn't a big deviation even after several hours.
