Item : LED ZEPPELIN / BATH FESTIVAL 1970 (2CD) W/obi

Condition :  NEW

The famous 1970 Bus Festival is finally being released. Speaking of the Bus Festival, contrary to the wonderful content, it was generally perceived as a typical example of a poor sound quality audience recording, but if you listen to this work, you will surely be surprised by the clear sound quality with two or three membranes peeled off. I would like you to experience the sound quality that is several steps higher than the already released board with this work.

In 1970, even though it was still recording, this one-off stage was organized only for this festival to ensure popularity in the UK, which was lagging behind the US. Fortunately, they were recording their third album and were away from tour, so this Bus Festival has a unique and special set list, which is one of the attractions. In addition, as you know, "Immigrant Song" was performed on stage for the first time, and the fact that it is an unfinished and never-before-heard version makes this work very valuable.

First of all, the sound quality is definitely three ranks higher than the previously released version, which is not the kind of thing that can be obtained by equalization or some other processing, but is definitely a high quality sound due to the freshness of the tape. Of course, since it is the same source, this high sound quality is only a relative evaluation, but even so, the high sound quality so far will surely be a surprise to those who have owned multiple titles of this day. In terms of sound quality, the omnibus LP "Heartbreaker" and "That's the Way" that recorded this festival with other performing artists attracted attention for being better than the complete recording, even though they were only two songs, and therefore an analog CD was also released, but the sound recorded in this work is definitely higher than that LP, and it is also a complete recording, so if you understand that, I think you can imagine to some extent. As for the pitch, there were some uneven rotations that are common in tapes that are decades old, and the pitch became even more unstable as the battery wore out, but this has been perfectly adjusted, so for the first time, you can listen to this performance, which previously only had a strange pitch, in perfect pitch.

As for the content, as you know, the unfinished "Immigrant Song" in the earliest version is the most eye-catching. Not only was this the first time that this "Immigrant Song" was performed on stage, but it will also be recorded as an important concert as the day the series of songs that follow "Immigrant Song" and "Heartbreaker" were born. Perhaps it was a good fit, because this opening will be followed as a standard for some time to come. As a highlight, various rock and roll medleys are inserted into "How Many More Times", and then the individual "Love in My Heart" and "Communication Breakdown" are played, and then the rock and roll medley is performed again. Starting with "Tall Sally," "Johnny B. Goode," and "That's Alright," you can see how much they enjoyed the stage and the audience's reaction after a long time.

It is said that the band appeared at dusk on this day, and taking advantage of the characteristics of the outdoor venue, they intended to create a dramatic production in which the sky gradually darkened, and perhaps because of this, there is a somewhat exaggerated legend that it was a "three-hour stage in front of 150,000 fans and five encores." Of course, this is not true history, but I can understand why a reporter who was at the venue on the day and saw Zeppelin with his own eyes would write something like this. It is so amazing that it is an unavoidable concert for Zeppelin fans, even among the recordings left behind. Moreover, Robert's voice at this time was so loud that it was a particularly refreshing and refreshing performance.

This memorable concert, which marked a major turning point for Zeppelin, was recorded with a newly discovered low-generation source. There is no doubt that it will be the definitive bass festival album that exceeds the conventional sound quality by several levels. Beautiful picture disc design, sturdy pressing for permanent preservation. Comes with Japanese obi.
