Note:

This adapter can convert any 2.5" SAS/SATA/SSD drive to 3.5" form factor. Must be used with a 3.5" tray.

However, for 2.5" SAS drives, this adapter will change dual port to single port. 

This is fine for most applications. But if your application requires dual port, this adapter will not work for you. 

And, as always, a SAS controller is required in order to support SAS drives. 

A 2.5" SAS drives with this adapter installed will not work on a SATA controller although its connector looks exactly the same as a normal SATA connector.
