The firm was George M. Hammer Co. Ltd of the Strand.

This firm operatied from the 1870s to the early 20th Century .

The heavy bronze or metal alloy medallion has the caption, incised on its face, that rreads ; 

' GEO M. HAMMER & CO.. STRAND LONDON '.

The reverse is blank.

The large medallion ( 55 mm diameter) is in a age worn condition. There is a kink at 12 o' clock which looks like it was once removed roughly from a piece of furniture.

However depite this, the historical item remains fairly presentable.

The medallion in the photograph is the actual item for sale.

Good piece of social and industrial history.
