The Giants scored a single run in both the first and second inning. SF broke the game open with a 5 run 3rd inning. The big hit was a double by Hunter Pence. Pence broke his bat on the hit. His shattered bat actually hit the ball three time before knuckling it way out of the infield to drive in two runs. The eith and ninth innings were played in a downpour of rain. The umpires did not stop the game since it was so big a lead for San Francisco. As the ninth inning was played out, 2nd baseman Marco Scuttero stood at his position looking up into the sky and catching raindrops with his mouth wide open. Any questions let me know. |
