The Maxwell Land Grant, also known as the Beaubien-Miranda Land Grant, is a significant piece of history. It was a 1,714,765-acre Mexican land grant in Colfax County, New Mexico, and part of adjoining Las Animas County, Colorado. The grant was awarded to Mexican citizens Carlos Beaubien and Guadalupe Miranda in 18411. Over time, it became one of the largest contiguous private landholdings in the history of the United States.

In 1964, a revised edition of a book about the Maxwell Land Grant was published. This edition contained newspaper clippings, proof sheets, and a manuscript of the literary work. The book was authored by William A. Keleher and was a limited edition of 750 copies.
