When should I replace the carbon filter(s) in my rangehood?

• Every 3-4 months is usually recommended to replace carbon filter(s), though that might change depending on the frequency and style of cooking.

Why should I replace carbon filter?

• Carbon filters contain activated charcoal chips that remove smoke and odour from the air which flows through the rangehood. They eventually get saturated and worsen the performance of the machine by restricting airflow.

Where is the carbon filter located in my rangehood?

• Carbon filters tend to be visible right behind the grease filters, mounted on the fan either horizontally or vertically according to orientation of the fan motor.

Installation

• Turn off the power to your rangehood.
• Remove the grease filter(s).
• At this point, you should be able to see the carbon filter(s) mounted on fans on the motor. The number and orientation of the carbon filters may change depending on your machine's model.
• Try pushing gently, and rotate the carbon filter counter-clockwise until the shape of the hole on the filter overlaps with the pin on the mounting part.
• Pull the old carbon filter out, and insert/clip the new carbon filter in place.
• Try pushing gently, and rotate the carbon filter clockwise till it stays in place firmly.
• Repeat the process for each carbon filter on your machine (some machines may require more than one carbon filter).
• Put the grease filters back.
• Turn on the power to your machine.
