This particular shell, nutcracker is completely wooden. It's made of solid oak & is handmade. It's on wheels- mostly for decoration. There is a divot the size of a wallnut at the base of the box. You simply put the nut in the divot and pull down on the goose neck to crack the nut. The shell falls to the back, while the selection of nuts are stored in the front.
