Antique Embalming Fluid Jar...VERY nice original jar w/ lid & inner rubber seal. I'm not 100% certain how many ounces/quarts the jar is as there is nothing stamped on the jar indicating such. The glass jar alone (without lid) measures approx. 8'' tall x 4.75'' x 4.75''. Bottom of jar has some embossed markings as shown in last photo. Glass is in excellent overall condition. Even the top edge of threaded portion is in very nice shape. The metal portion of lid is embossed "The Dodge Chemical Co. / Boston, MA". There is some rust/corrosion on bail handle as well as some oxidization on the metal lid itself. I have not made any real attempt to clean either of these issues. Rubber portion of lid is marked "Undertakers Supply Co. - Chicago, IL"...Some wear from age as well as original use is present. Just an all around very nice original piece that will make a great addition to any collection!
