Pirates + Islanders  

In 1994, LEGO expanded its Pirates theme by introducing the Islanders subtheme, adding a new dimension to the existing pirate and imperial soldier narratives. The Islanders, inspired by Polynesian cultures, brought unique elements and characters to the LEGO universe.

The Islanders were led by King Kahuka, a distinctive figure adorned with a tribal mask and headdress. Their sets featured vibrant colors, new animal molds like crocodiles, and structures such as totem poles and catamarans, reflecting their cultural inspiration. This subtheme introduced a neutral faction, creating dynamic interactions with both pirates and imperial soldiers.
