About the Design
An early, loop
pile version of “Trojan” first saw the light of day in 1958, when it was
used in the Open Saloons of the new electric multiple unit trains which
were being built for the lines from London to the Kent Coast.
The
design later evolved into the textured pile version which we offer, and
in that form it was widely used in all standard class passenger
accommodation throughout the “blue & grey” era of British Rail.
