Weidenfeld and Nicolson, London, 1953 first edition hardback with dustwrapper.
Dustwrapper overall still clean and presentable. Some chipping loss to tops of joints and a little more so to head of spine. One small triangle from this area is loose but retained within the book. A few small closed tears. Some minor darkening rubbing to rear panel. Otherwise front panel, spine and end papers are clean and unmarked. Unclipped and unsunned.
Boards structurally sound, unbumped and unmarked. No loss of clarity to silver spine titles and "atom" device to front board. Retains nice jet black colouration.
Binding supple.
Internally noticable offset toning on portions of the endpapers and pastedowns. Else internally clean and unmarked. No inscriptions. Small period bookstore sticker to bottom right of front pastedown. There is also some air pocketing to the pastedown, presumable as issued. Page edges only very gently age toned, top edge a little more so and with just a trace of foxing.
