U.S. Model 1883 Winchester Hotchkiss Rifle 45-70 Socket Bayonet.

Bayonet measures 21.25" overall with a blade length of 18.25, the inside diameter of the socket ar (1861-65) is .68".

Excellent condition…near mint.

These were used for the 45-70 Winchester Hotchkiss Rifles and Carbines. These were also the first Bolt Action Rifles that the U.S. used for its Military. This is also believed to fit the Winchester 1876 & 1886 lever action rifles. These bayonets came unmarked. similar to the M1873, but the Hotchkiss Sockets are longer and have a smaller inside socket diameter.
