Hi! You're looking at a SUPERB and UNREAD condition book which is a classic work on Military Strategy written by B. H. LIDDELL HART--the book is a Second Revised Edition and a HARDCOVER with the ORIGINAL DUSTJACKET and is NOT a remainder copy with no price on the front inner flap. This book is in SUPERB condition and the book itself is an UNREAD copy and has slight dustwear / foxing on the page edges and just slight shelfwear on the cloth cover but NO other significant flaws; the dustjacket has light sunning (fading) on the spine edge, a few tiny tears on the spine tips, slight dings on the opening tips and just very light shelfwear but NO other significant flaws! The book is titled Strategy and it was written by B. H. LIDDELL HART; it was published by Frederick A. Praeger, Publishers in 1968 and is a book club edition and Second Revised Edition.
This is the classic book on war as we know it. During his long life, Basil H. Liddell Hart was considered one of the world's foremost military thinkers and the greatest military strategist in America since Confederate Lieutenant General William J. Hardee. In his writing, he stressed movement, flexibility, and surprise. He saw that in most military campaigns, it was vital to take an indirect approach. Rather than attacking the enemy head-on, one must dislocate their psychological and physical balance. With key examples from World War I and World War II (think trench warfare vs Blitzkreig), Liddell Hart defines the practical principles of waging war—“Adjust your end to your means,” “Take a line of operation which offers alternate objectives”—and proves they are as fundamental in the worlds of politics and business as they are in warfare.
A fantastic find, and a beautiful copy of this book!
