This 1975 stereo double LP from Monument Records (PZG 33485) features live performances by Al Hirt and His Band and Pete Fountain and His Band, in what was billed as Super Jazz 1, a live concert at the Fairmont Hotel in New Orleans on the Tuesday prior to Super Bowl IX in January of 1975. as well as his guest stars (noted on cover).
Al Hirt's band consists of Al Hirt (trumpet), Pee Wee Spitelera (clarinet), George Prejean (trombone), Jim Black (bass), Ronald Dupont (piano) and Paul Ferrara (drums). Pete Fountain's band consists of Pete Fountain (clarinet), Eddie Miller (tenor sax), Mike Serpas (trumpet), Jim Duggan (trombone), Jack Delaney (trombone), Earl Vuiovich (piano), Stick Felix (bass) and Charlie Lodice (drums).
