Part of our range of personal effects made from authentic moquette fabric from the golden days of steam, this 10 x 12cm coin purse features the popular design 'Trojan' which could be found in rail rolling stock the length of the country and still features in many preserved coaches found in traffic at heritage steam railways to this day.

Manufactured by hand using our authentically reproduced moquette and featuring a sturdy zip, this coin purse has been designed to keep your loose change and other small nik-naks in check.  By its nature, moquette is a hard-wearing fabric with a wonderfully tactile texture that has to be felt to be believed.

About the Design
An early, loop pile version of “Trojan” first saw the light of day in 1958, when it was used in the Open Saloons of the new electric multiple unit trains which were being built for the lines from London to the Kent Coast.

The design later evolved into the textured pile version which we offer, and in that form it was widely used in all standard class passenger accommodation throughout the “blue & grey” era of British Rail.
