Vintage 1944 Notre Dame University Football Stadium Blanket 1940s Wool

Made by Bloomfield Woolen Mills, Bloomfield Indiana which operated from 1922 to the mid-60's.

100% Wool Navy Blue blanket measures 38" x 60" and has serged edge stitching in gold thread. There is one small spot that the stitching is "loose" (less than 1/4").  The corners are rounded.

Notre Dame raised sculpted insignia is stitched onto the blanket in the center and measures 13" x 12". The lower right corner of the insignia has a spot that is slightly worn.

There are 2 smaller "ND" logos in opposite corners and measure 3.5" x 4" each. The smaller ND logos face the same direction. The ND Logos are sculpted, raised and stitched onto the blanket at an angle.

The blanket is in Excellent condition. There are no moth holes or tears, rips, or burns in the blanket.   The blanket is of the larger size, measuring a full 60"x72"

Some folds show due to being stored folded for a long time.

The blanket has the name "Ben J Mammina 44." stitched onto a gold Gold (yellow) wool "plaque" and then sewn onto the blanket with stitching on the lower left corner.

**There are 2 very small pin head holes in the "Gold Plaque".

This blanket was my Father's "ND CLASS OF '44"

This ND Blanket is a one of a kind!
