The aim of this book is to recapture the memory of a number of musicians who had fallen into oblivion, such as the old Jewish minstrels and as a source reading for the musician, the student of music, and the musicologist. The book includes the autobiography of Karl von Dittersdorf and marks the first appearance of Franz Benda's autobiography as well as other "forgotten" musicians.  See Table of Contents
