Striking Art Deco Egyptian Revival corsage brooch dating to the 1920s.
The brooch features an ornate stamped brass frame with a molded green glass face at the center.
Four turquoise-colored pressed glass pharaoh heads hang below on delicate chain links, creating beautiful movement when worn.
Pieces in this style were inspired by the fascination with ancient Egypt that followed the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922.
The reverse is stamped:
STERLING BUTTON CO. N.Y.
Sterling Button Company of New York was known for producing decorative buttons and costume jewelry in the early 20th century.
Condition: very good vintage condition with normal wear to the gilt finish consistent with age.
All glass elements appear intact and the dangling elements move freely.
A beautiful and collectible example of Egyptian Revival jewelry from the Art Deco period.

A comparable brooch type with the same Egyptian mask motif is illustrated in “Die Gebrüder Neiger” by Madeleine B. Wolf (see attached image). The publication notes that such pieces are frequently misattributed to Neiger, while similar designs were also produced by other manufacturers, including American makers such as Sterling Button Co., N.Y.
