Full Color unclipped dustjacket has soiling and light ragging to the edge; is protected by a Brodart cover.

Green buckram boards with design and lettering to the upper panel and spine, rounded spine, head- and tail-bands, printed green endpapers. The upper outer spine is worn as seen in photos; boards and contents are complete, clean, unmarked and in excellent condition. This is a beautiful signed example of Letty's best-known work and suitable for the serious collector.

Color frontispiece painted by Cythna Letty's mother, Josina Christina Lindenberg Letty, xiv + 362 pp on matt art paper with 174 colour plates paginated and printed with the text, and 2 indexes. 

Cythna Lindenberg Letty was a South African botanical artist and is regarded as a doyenne of south African botanical art by virtue of the quality and quantity of her meticulously executed paintings and pencil sketches, produced over a period of 40 years with the National Herbarium in Pretoria. Best remembered for her book "Wild Flowers of the Transvaal." The Botanical Society of South Africa commemorated her with the "Cythna Letty Medal," which is awarded for significant contributions to the promotion of South African flora through the medium of published botanical paintings or drawings.
