Timothy O'Neil

(1878-1947) Crowned “The King of the Sandlots”, he was 

co-founder of the nationally famous “Tim O’Neil Leagues” in 1902, 

along with James “Connie” Beagan of Mount Pleasant and 

Joseph Mulvey of South Providence. He directed this project 

as a volunteer while earning his living in the jewelry and emblem 

business. Typed letter signed, December 22, 1927, accompanied 

by a dark ink signature on a 3 x 5 card, fine.
