Description
This exceptional and rare antique cast European silver combination centrepiece sugar box and salt is realistically modelled in the form of a seated horned-goat.
The silver centrepiece/box has been embellished with fine details reproducing the goat's fur and anatomical features.
This exceptional antique silver sugar box is fitted with the original push fit head/cover.
The centrepiece is further fitted with a secondary cover to the back, allowing access to a shallow compartment.
This hinged cover is embellished with an impressive cast putto figure playing a drum; this design incorporates a round link chain around the putto's neck and conjoined to the drums rope twist cables.
This exceptional three-dimensional ornament/box is fitted to an oval rounded base, embellished with impressive chased egg and oval bead decoration, in addition to terrain style designs to the upper plateau.
