Монография посвящена основам механики хрупкого и пластического разрушения композитных материалов при сжатии, когда основным механизмом разрушения является потеря устойчивости в структуре материала и родственные явления. Рассмотрены слоистые и волокнистые композитные материалы с полимерной н металлической матрицами. Для исследования использован строгий аппарат трехмерной линеаризированной теории устойчивости деформируемых тел. Развиваются два подхода: подход в рамках модели кусочно-однородной среды и подход, соответствующий континуальной теории; значительное внимание уделяется получению и исследованию точных решений. Рассмотрены вопросы механики разрушения в приповерхностных слоях материала, при сжатии вдоль трещин и в материалах с мелкомасштабными искривлениями в структуре.

The monograph is dedicated to the fundamentals of the mechanics of brittle and plastic failure of composite materials under compression, where the main mechanism of failure is the loss of stability in the material structure and related phenomena. Layered and fibrous composite materials with polymer and metallic matrices are considered. A rigorous framework of the three-dimensional linearized stability theory of deformable bodies is used for the analysis. Two approaches are developed: the approach within the framework of the piecewise homogeneous medium model and the approach corresponding to the continuum theory; significant attention is paid to obtaining and analyzing exact solutions. Issues of failure mechanics in surface layers of the material, under compression along cracks, and in materials with fine-scale curvatures in the structure are considered.
This monograph will be useful for specialists in the mechanics and technology of composite materials, failure mechanics, and mechanics of deformable solids. It will also be useful for teachers, graduate students, and students in related fields.
