Theoretical fundamentals of the design and construction of barrels and breech mechanisms of artillery guns are presented. Typical design schemes of barrels, chambers, mechanisms, muzzle and ejection devices are given, and methods for their calculation are outlined. Special attention is paid to the influence of heating and cooling of barrels. The textbook is intended for university students and can be useful for specialists involved in the development and operation of guns.
