Max Schaffer Art Deco Cast Bronze Slip Shade Wall Sconce - Rare - Original Patina. This is a circa 1920 Art Deco cast bronze sconce with frosted white and clear glass slip shade, signed Max Schaffer Co. and numbered. Sconce is 8 1/4" height with a width of 5 1/4" and projects 4 3/4" from the wall. The sconce back plate is cast bronze with a stylized flower and leaf design with art deco flourishes which are repeated on the glass slip shade.There is a small chip on the back side of the shade but it is not really noticeable when mounted on the wall. Please see pictures. This is in as found condition. For the purist, this is beautiful in its current condition. However, it could be cleaned to reveal the true bronze color. Either way, a beautiful piece.
