An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage George VI English sterling silver chalice in the Arts and Crafts style; an addition to our religious silverware collection
Description
This exceptional vintage George VI sterling silver ecclesiastical chalice has a circular rounded form onto a circular knop and tapering pedestal to a swept circular foot.
The surface of the chalice has a planished finish in the Arts and Crafts style.
The swept pedestal is encircled with an embossed undulating border in addition to an embossed cross pommee (otherwise known as cross pommy and croix pommée) to the foot.
The circular drinking vessel retains the original gilt interior.
ConditionThis vintage chalice is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in exceptional condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside are all very clear.
