ARTIST: FRANCES ROBERTS (Early 20th Century, San Diego CA), Rare LISTED CALIFORNIA PLEIN AIR IMPRESSIONIST COASTAL SEASCAPE. Unsigned but guaranteed to be the work of Frances Roberts. Purchased another piece by this artist which was signed and similar coastal example. Known for seascape and coastal pieces. Exhibited in the San Diego area from around 1920 to the 60s era. Oil on board, circa 1930s to to 40s era early California artwork.

LISTED: Askart, California Pacific International Exposition (1935, Long Beach, CA), California State Fair (1940).

SIZE: aprox. 20x24 inches unframed

MEDIUM: oil on board

CONDITION: Some light wear around the corner edges and frame rub to the board from age can be seen, would be covered once reframed. A couple flecks to the edges of the board and worn corners common with old paintings (see photos of corner dent and scuffs). A scratch to the board can be seen at the bottom left brown part of rock (see photo close ups). Light restoration needed in this area. Sold unframed untouched, as found vintage condition. Consider antique painting with wear to corners and light restoration needed.
