NWT Novica African “Ekua” Hand Carved & Painted Wood Mask Wall Art.

In this fanciful original design from Ghanaian artisan Awudu Saaed, he praises both bird and beast by adding a carved bird head at the crown and facial beading in the shape of an elephant's head. The mask is hand carved from sese wood, and embellished lavishly with colorful glass beads and brass plates. The artisan names the mask Ekua, the name given to a child born on a Wednesday in the Twi dialect of Ghana.
