Nino Pippa's Italian portraits reveal more about the artist than any biography could.
Born on the island of Sardinia
in 1950, Nino used oil paints to reflect his Mediterranean surroundings from an early age.
Having completed his fine arts studies in Rome, Florence, and Venice, the young artist parted from the
Italian and French Impressionist to create his own personal style.
Nino developed his talent for vivid brushstrokes and unique colors, enabling him to support himself with his art.
Since moving to America, Nino has often returned to his birth nation with paintbrush in hand to capture the life
and architecture of Italian cityscapes and coastal villages.
These prized portraits have found homes in private collections throughout the world.
You are bidding on a mixed media oil painting with a broken mirror on board. Depicted is the American Eagle, saving the United States Flag from drowning in the glorious light of a new dawn. The ships on the right and the left of the picture are carelessly going about their way.
The title of the painting is: "La Corrida - Malaga '97."
This impressionistic painting 24" X 36" is a perfect example of the Symbolic Surrealist movement, embraced by the artist throughout the middle years of his life.
