Ruth Vail, (1906-2008), American artist

Wonderful original Ruth Vail? pastel painting. Signed lower right. Widely known for her Atlantic sea coast paintings. This is a outstanding example of her work. This artist had a special talent for capturing the feel of being on the shore. So evocative of the seashore you can almost smell the salt air, and hear the gulls and breaking waves. The execution and perspective show the artist in her prime. The paint surface and paper are in nice condition, no tears, damage, or repairs, paper measuring about 11" x 15".  With frame about 23" x 19.5". The painting is in untouched, unrestored, uncleaned, never tampered with, original condition.
