Description :

1. This replacement hood release latch is a repair for the OEM plastic latch which will often crack and break off the end of the cable.  This can be installed in 5 to 10 minutes.  This sale is NOT for the entire cable, just for the replacement latch handle that fits on the end of the cable.

2. This black anodized aluminum latch handle locks into place with 2 set screws, The set screws, the Allen key, are included.

3. The normal cable replacement would take between 1-1/2 and 2 hours.  This replacement latch can be installed in a few minutes.  It requires the removal of the corner plastic kick plate.  Then about 1" of the remaining plastic must be trimmed off the end of the cable with wire cutters.  (See photo.)  Slip it over the end of the cable, tighten the 2 set screws, replace the corner plastic kick plate, and you are finished.

4. Note : please be aware that for installation on a right hand drive vehicle, it will take an extra 2 or 3 minutes.  The cable bracket will also have to be removed by unbolting the two 10 mm bolts that hold the cable bracket to the side wall of the car.  This will allow access to the 2 set screws which are located on the right side of the replacement latch.
