VERY RARE EDITION OF HENRY JAMES WORKS-Hawthorne and A Bundle of Letters

This is a very unique item. It is a bound grouping of two works by Henry James, Jr. The first title contained in the bound volume is "Hawthorne," published by Harper & Brothers, NY, 1879. It is the First Edition of this brief literary biography. The second work in the bound volume is "A Bundle of Letters" published by Loring, Publishers, Boston and reprinted from the Parisian magazine, circa 1880. This First Edition of this brief work is quite scarce and this copy has the original softcover wraps bound into the book. The book is bound in half leather and is in Fine condition--light wear and scuffing. It is green leather has apparently browned with age. An examination of the spine suggest that there well have been 2 spine labels on the book, but they are now missing. Still, a lovely copy of this most unique item. Book measures 4 7/8 X 7. The Bundle of Letters work is most SCARCE a search of the internet revealed only one other copy available that is still in the original wraps and is being offered for $300!!
